And here we are in May and we got 5 inches of snow

Travis » 01 May 2008 » In weather » No Comments

The 5 inches didn’t last long. Basically the next day it was all gone and was in the high 50’s. I’m thinking this will actually be the last snowfall we get. Crossing my fingers. Hoping for more thunder and lightening like last summer.

Youth Group Baby Shower

Nina » 26 April 2008 » In youth group » No Comments

Laura and I thought it would be a ton of fun to throw Todd (our Youth Pastor) and his wife Kaely a surprise baby shower with the youth group. They had no idea! Laura and Eric hosted it at their house and my co-worker from Chaparral made the AMAZING baby cake! The youth group all pitched in to purchase their stroller as a gift. We had a blast playing games and socializing! Kaely is due the 1st of June, however she’s crossing her fingers that their baby girl, Ella, will come early!

1 week into April and we get snow

I can’t really complain because, although we had 2 days of snow, the days following we were back up to 70 degree weather.

Nina and Laura’s road trip to California

Travis » 20 March 2008 » In vacation » No Comments

We have some friends who drove their truck out in February to visit some of their family and ended up having to leave Colorado abruptly to get back to California. Well, Nina and Laura decided they would drive the truck back to California for them so they could visit some family and friends. It ended up working out really well because Nina was able to see her brand new niece. Here are a few pictures of her trip.

Ugly Mug Coffee Fundraiser

Travis » 15 March 2008 » In youth group » No Comments

The youth group Nina and I are working with is headed to Grand Junction, CO this summer (July 20-27) for their summer mission trip. Nina and I are actually going as well. We will spend most of the time in Grand Junction and at the end of the trip we will be headed to Moab, UT to relax and unwind after a few days of hard work. To help raise the cost of the trip some of the kids are selling coffee thru Ugly Mug Coffee. Each item sells for $10 and $4 goes straight to the church. If your looking for a coffee, tea, or hot chocolate fix and want to try something new, take a look at what were selling. I’ll pick up the cost to ship it to you. Click here to see the PDF of what were selling. I would recommend the Southern Pecan. If your interested shoot me and e-mail: travis@twotimesfive.com.

Fundraiser ends at the end of June.

My sister and brother-in-law gave birth to Reagan Faith today. God has blessed us with a perfect healthy little girl. We are so excited about the new addition to our family. I will be sure to include more pictures in the next few days. Nina is actually in California visiting for spring break, so I’m sure I will have plenty of pictures to upload later.

The Carlson’s came to visit

Travis » 19 February 2008 » In guests » No Comments

Our best friends Nate and Jessica and their 2 boys, Isaiah and Matthew came to visit. We had so much fun getting caught up and just spending time with them. I really wanted to go sledding ever since the beginning of winter, so this was an excuse to go out and buy one or two sleds. Unfortunately there wasn’t many to choose from due to the fact that it’s the end of winter. But we were able to find a few that would work. We have this great hill real close to our house that we call Monarch Slopes. We also went to the

We can’t wait until we get the chance to see them again. Thanks for coming to visit. We love you guys.

January - Just a few different things

The following day from returning from Minnesota, we had my mom come and visit. It was her first time seeing our place and it was great to show her where we live and our new lives out here in Colorado. We got the chance to celebrate Christmas (better late than never) as well as many other fun things. Thanks Mom for coming. We can’t wait until you come back with Grandma and Grandpa.

Denver Zoo Lights

Travis » 31 December 2007 » In friends, outdoor activities » No Comments

The Denver Zoo during the month of December (when most of the animals are being housed inside) takes a bunch of Christmas lights and shapes them into animals all around the zoo. So the Bockhackers, Johnsons, Nina, myself and my mom visiting from California headed into Denver for New Year’s Eve. As you can imagine seeing lights shaped as animals isn’t as exciting as the actual animals so Nina decided that we needed to strike as many funny poses as we could before the night was over. Afterwards, everyone came back to our house to play some games.
