Travis decided it was time to see the trees change, so we invited Eric and Laura to join us. We headed to Evergreen for a hike and Beau Jo’s Pizza. It was absolutely gorgeous and a ton of fun. Enjoy the pictures.

Shane & Shane Concert @ Glen Eyrie Castle

Travis » 22 August 2008 » In friends, music » No Comments

Shane & Shane were doing a worship conference down at Glen Eyrie in the springs. Friday night they had a concert open to the public. So Nina, Todd and I headed down to the Springs to hit it up. The concert was awesome, the room we were in only holds about 200, so it was a real cool night of worship. Glen Eyrie is a castle that was built decades ago and is now owned by The Navigators. The surrounding area is very similar to Forest Home. The pictures I took are not the best but here are a few to get an idea.

Fourth of July With Gina!

Nina » 04 July 2008 » In friends, holidays » No Comments

Gina drove back to Colorado with us and oh did we have fun. We stopped in Vegas and stayed one night. It was totally fun, super hot, and brightly lite. She was here for a week and we filled our time together. We thought it would be fun to take advantage of our “small town” feelin’ city and enjoy the Fourth of July celebration. We went to this awesome new park (our youth group kids LOVE it) and enjoyed the city run festivities. The best part was when we left. As we pulled out of the parking lot we saw flames. The hillside caught on fire from the fireworks. We felt so bad for the firemen that were in charge of shooting them off. Bummer deal.

Vacation in California (If you can call it that)

Nina » 27 June 2008 » In family, friends, vacation » No Comments

Travis and I drove to California to see family and friends. As Travis said earlier, we left at 2 in the morning and got to California around 4. First things first, a trip to see Reagan. Travis was dying to meet his first and cutest niece so we went straight there. We also made it to Disneyland with the Carlsons. We had a blast in 100 degree weather. YEAH! Our trip was awesome. The big bummer was Travis having to work. He worked in CDF’s Irvine office. We feel blessed that he had this opportunity, we just packed way too much in the two weeks. Thanks for all of you that made time for us. We appreciate you allowing us to intrude on your busy summer schedules.

Denver Zoo Lights

Travis » 31 December 2007 » In friends, outdoor activities » No Comments

The Denver Zoo during the month of December (when most of the animals are being housed inside) takes a bunch of Christmas lights and shapes them into animals all around the zoo. So the Bockhackers, Johnsons, Nina, myself and my mom visiting from California headed into Denver for New Year’s Eve. As you can imagine seeing lights shaped as animals isn’t as exciting as the actual animals so Nina decided that we needed to strike as many funny poses as we could before the night was over. Afterwards, everyone came back to our house to play some games.
